about

The title of this track translates from Serbo-Croatian as "Peace in the Church of St. Euphemia." This is a beautiful cathedral that dominates the skyline of the hilltop town of Rovinj, Croatia. I had the opportunity to sit for a length of time in the main chapel of the cathedral, the meditative calm and cool of the space represented in the liminal nature of the music. St. Euphemia, of course, was a martyr, whose torture and death in the name of her faith inspires countless believers - the voice crying in anguish at the end reminding us that this beauty and peace came at a cost.
